Boosting transport sustainability on the road to Rio

Geneva, 2 December 2011: “75% of Europeans live in towns and cities. More than 100,000 people are killed on roads annually. Across Europe’s cities up to 82% of all journeys are made by car. Road transport accounts for more than 20% of CO2 emissions.” These are just some of the facts highlighted in a new information toolkit aimed at boosting sustainable transport across the pan-European region.
