Bob Kakuyo has close to 30 years of international experience in environment and natural resource management and is currently the coordinator of the UNEP programme on South-South Cooperation in the Division of Regional Cooperation, UNEP, Nairobi, Kenya. Kakuyo joined UNEP in 1990 in the then Global Environment Monitoring Systems Programme Activity Centre (GEMS/PAC) now the Division of Early Warning and Assessment and for the next 12 years was responsible for directing and implementing UNEP’s integrated environmental assessment and reporting activities in the Africa region, including coordination of Africa inputs for the Global Environment Outlook (GEO) report series, production of the national and sub-regional State of Environment (SoE) reports as well as the Africa Environment Outlook report. Jacquie Chenje is a Political Scientist who has worked in environment field since 1996 at the sub-regional, regional and global levels. She has been involved in capacity building in a wide spectrum of areas including: strengthening State of the Environment Reporting in Southern Africa; building media capacity to authoritatively report on environmental issues, coordinating field training initiatives and investigative journalism fellowships and; coordinating the development of an on-line learning tool for documentalists & librarians interested in environmental issues.
