2008 Global Forum for Sport and
Environment (G-ForSE)

The
The United Nations Environment Programme in collaboration with the Global Sports Alliance of Japan and Volvo will be hosting the 2008 Global Forum for Sport and Environment (G-ForSE) in Alicante, Spain from 4 to 6 October 2008. The Forum, whose theme is - Climate Change: Changing our Carbon Footprint – will address the connection between sport and climate change and to review actions by sport organizations to reduce their carbon footprints. The Forum will be held in conjunction with the launch of the Volvo Ocean Race. The 200 participants of the Forum will come from sports organizations and federations, sports personalities, the International Olympic Committee, manufacturers of sporting goods, United Nations agencies, NGOs and government representatives.

Memorandum of Cooperation between FIM and UNEP
