Play for the Planet 2009 Nairobi, 20 November 2009
As the whole planet starts gearing up to the World Cup in South Africa, more than 2,000 youth will gather in Nairobi to Play for the Planet from 21 November to 6 December.

This event brings together Organisations and hundreds of children from schools and communities to engage in sport and environmental activities, such as clean ups, environmental awareness seminars and tree planting.

The Global Forum for Sport and Environment (G-ForSE) - Alicante, Spain 4 - 6 October 2008
The Forum, whose theme is Climate Change: Changing our Carbon Footprint, will address the connection between sport and climate change and to review actions by sport organizations to reduce their carbon footprints.

Summit for the Environment 2005
(SSE)
The United Nations had determined that 2005 was the “International
Year of Sport and Physical Education”, while at the same time
served as the first year of the “Decade of Education for Sustainable
Development.” The year 2005 was also the year in which the first
international exposition was held in the 21st century:“EXPO2005,
AICHI” under the theme of “Nature’s Wisdom.”

with an appropriate environmental message to highlight the links between
sport and the environment and to encourage more sport organizations to incorporate
environmental issues in their activities |

Nature
and Sport Training Camps
A leadership training
programme on sport and the environment for children from underprivileged
communities in developing countries. The first camp was launched in Nairobi,
Kenya, in August 2001.
