three-day Forum, which was held at Pearl
Continental Hotel in Lahore, had a plenary session
addressed by the senior officials of the Government of Pakistan,
senior officials of the United Nations and leading athletes.
The
Forum had three panel discussions on:

2. Sport & Environment – Concept & Reality
3. Partnership for a Better Environment (with schools, industry,
sport associations and athletes)

on Sports and the Environment.
The
forum provided top prizes to best environmental practices
in the following categories:
1. Sporting Goods
2. Sporting events
3. Sporting facilities
Recycle
Art Programme
A National
competition for schools in Pakistan on recycled Sport equipment
was organized by G-ForSE. The best entry was selected for
exhibition and prizes given to winners of the competition.
Field
Trip
Participants
of the Forum had a field trip to Sialkot, located about
100 km from Lahore. Sialkot is the base of several sporting
good manufacturers in Pakistan. The field trip provided
them with an opportunity to review the environmental aspects
of many of the sporting goods manufacturers and discussed
ways of reinforcing the environmetal aspects of their work.
