The Environmental Education and Training (EET) activities of the United Nations Environment Programme are founded on its mission of inspiring, informing, and enabling nations and peoples to improve their quality of life without compromising that of future generations. This is done to promote innovative, action-oriented, and value-based education for sustainable development by ensuring that environmental considerations are taken into account.

The Environmental Education and Training Unit is responsible for the implementation of Environmental Education and Training activities in close collaboration with all UNEP Divisions.

Environic Foundation International (EFI)

To be an agent of change, moving people from destructive to constructive social, economic, and environmental practices by providing education that motivates people to engage in common purpose for the attainment of sustainable societies.

EFI is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation founded in the United States in 1970. The goal of EFI’s Sustainable Societies Project is to build sustainability issue literacy through locally-relevant education that people can put to practical use.
