6th Global Partnership meeting endorses vibrant work
programme
The 6th Global Partnership meeting of the PCFV (6GPM) took place
In Beijing on 10-11 April, 2008 with 30 member organizations
and 3 observer organizations, participating.
Hosted by the Ministry of Environmental Protection of China (MEP),
the meeting had vibrant and interactive discussions as members
looked back over the 5 years since inception assessing PCFV successes,
strengths and lessons learnt.
A new and active program of work for the new biennium, 2008/09 was
approved that saw expansion of clean vehicle work into new activity
areas, while completing the successful lead phase-out campaign by 2008
as targeted.
Partners agreed on the existence of co-benefits as a result of the PCFV
Work on fuel efficiency, and while the primary focus remains on clean
Fuels and vehicles, the link between a better environment due to the
efficiency of cars was acknowledged. The C-H was mandated
to document fuel and vehicle efficiency co-benefits.
A new Advisory Group was nominated and CAI-Asia joined 11 member
Group, a majority of whom were retained.
