Fuel quality will be discussed during the Preparatory Meeting of High Level Government Experts (to be held from Sunday 27th to Tuesday 29th January 2008), in which several representatives of sub-regional and inter-governmental organizations and United Nations agencies will participate. At this preparatory meeting of experts, an agenda of environmental issues of regional significance will be reviewed and proposals advanced for consideration at the Ministerial Segment, to be held from Wednesday 30th January to Friday 1st February 2008.
The UNEP-based Clearing-House of the PCFV has been working together with partners in the region and the UNEP Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean to ensure that low sulphur fuels and cleaner vehicles standards for improved air quality are on the forum agenda and will be discussed by ministers during the ministerial segment.
