The Partnership for Clean Fuels and Vehicles (PCFV) successfully held its 8th global meeting of the Partnership on 21 and 22 April 2010 in Washington D.C. The meeting which was hosted by the US Government (US Environmental Protection Agency) had the largest Partner turn-out in GPM history.

In attendance were 74 participants (two via conference call) representing 35 member organizations. Regrettably, a number of Partners were unable to attend the meeting due to flight disruptions in Europe as a result of a volcano eruption in Iceland.

The meeting, opened by Ms Michelle DePass, US EPA Assistant Administrator, Office of International Affairs reviewed performance of the 2008-2009 work programmed and approved the PCFV Work Programme for the 2010-2011 biennium. » More

Tunisia has formally announced the phase out of leaded fuel by January 2010 and adoption of new sulphur level standards for gasoline at 50 parts per million (ppm) and gasoil at 10 ppm in conformity to European standards (EN 590 January 2005+AC). The country will, however, continue to market gasoil with a maximum of 3000 ppm sulphur until later next year. Plans are also underway for the refinery upgrade. » More
