First Clean Fleet Management Training in the Caribbean
22-23 March 2011
The PCFV, together with the Caribbean Environmental Health Institute (CEHI), launched the UNEP Clean Fleet Management Approach in the Caribbean with the Clean Fleet Management Training on 22-23rd March 2011 in St. Lucia. Seventeen fleet managers participated, both public and private from 8 countries in the region (Trinidad, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, Jamaica, Barbados, Antigua, Grenada, Dominica). The participants were trained on how to evaluate the emissions from their fleets and put in place strategies and technologies to reduce both CO2 and non-CO2 emissions, using the UNEP Clean Fleet Toolkit, which is now available online in both English and Spanish. The UNEP Clearing House of the PCFV and CEHI will follow up with the countries that participated on their clean and efficient fleet strategies.
