Plant for the Planet -Tanzania

Mbilinyi Forestry Conservation Programme (MFCP) is an initiative that operates in four Tanzanian villages. Since 1993 the programme has been growing and providing thousands of trees to Wangama, Ikanga, Imalilo and Mdandu villages – working specifically with children, youth and women. Since its inception MFCP has planted over 350,000 trees. The programme intends to plant 300,000 trees this year alone.
The initiative received the UNDP Administrator's Award for Innovation and Commitment and in December 2005.
