World Environment Day 2007
Celebrated in Satellite Town, Gujranwala, Pakistan
In order to develop a sense of unity with nature and to promote concern and respect for the environment, students and staff of Aizar High School organized a walk on World Environment Day 2007. About two thousand students teachers and people from different walks of life participated, carried banners and shared the message about how important is to keep our environment clean. The students also visited the local community and motivated them to keep their environment clean.
Maqsood Amjad Rathore of Nazim Satellite Town highlighted the importance of environmental protection and said that our earth is deeply wounded. "We live today in a dull, dirty earth filled with dark swirling clouds of dioxides of carbon and sulphur. "
Talking on the occasion Principal Eugien Gujranwala John added, "We must protect the Earth and respect and safeguard the many forms of life it is a home to. The Earth does not simply belong to us. Millions and millions of our children have an indisputable right to it too. We must keep our earth safe for them too."
The day ended with assurances from every body that he/she will do his/her best to protect the mother earth.
