The ‘Refuse Plastic Bags’ campaign

The environmental club of our school started a ‘Refuse Plastic Bags’ campaign. We all knew that plastic bags are very hard to decompose, it takes about 300 years for one plastic bag to decompose! This is very harmful to the environment. Because of this, we, the environmental club wants to at least decrease the usage of plastic bags in our school and city. Our school helped us out and started negotiating with local shopping bags companies to support us with our campaign. They soon agreed and made us shopping bags for a nice price. We are now, encouraging students, teachers, and parents from our school to buy our shopping bags and refuse the plastic ones that many supermarkets and markets provide. The environmental club has made speeches in elementary and middle school explaining the harm that plastic bags bring to us. Our goal and objectives are:
1. To get our school active about this event and refuse plastic bags wherever we go.
2. We will negotiate with big shopping centers and markets to ask them to provide consumers with shopping bags rather than plastic bags.
3. Write letters to environment agencies in the city and ask them to support our campaign.
We hope our campaign will get to as much people as possible!
