Together To Protect Human & the Environment Association in conjunction with Civil Pillar organized a drawing day for children between the ages of 6 and 14 years to mark Arab Environmental Day on 14th October 2006.
The event whose theme was Climate Change was held at the Gaderia Club Gardens, with more than 50 children from different schools in Baghdad taking part. All drawing accessories were distributed by Together To Protect Human & the Environment Association.
Before the start of the event, expert engineer, Saadia Alsahly, gave lectures about the climate change concept, citing reasons for and the results of climate change. She also offered advice to the children on ways they can participate in activities to protect their planet, including reducing pollution, planting trees and growing gardens in their schools, at home and in their local areas and getting involved in campaigns to clean their environment.
The children spent most of their time drawing and playing in the beautiful gardens of Gaderia Club, with the climax of the celebration being distribution of gifts to all the children.
