The 17th International Children's Painting Competition on the Environment was organized by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Japan-based Foundation for Global Peace and Environment (FGPE), Bayer AG and Nikon Corporation. Regional winners were announced starting on 22 April 2008 and the global winners will announced on 5 June 200 in New Zealand where the International World Environment Day celebrations will take place. The 2008 theme was "Climate Change".
