Paulina Monforte Herrero, from Mexico, became a Tunza Youth Advisor in November, 2008.
She studied Biology and has been volunteering in environmental activities since 2004.
In 2005 she joined the Youth Environmental Network of Yucatán, an organization in the Yucatan Peninsula that, through educative actions, strengthen of participation and local capacities, and engagement of the society; contributes to sustainable development. Since 2007, she is the general director of the organization.
Her main work has been done in environmental education and activism but she is also interested in community conservation and development, and ecological research.
Paulina is now carrying out an environmental education project called Scholar Agenda 21, which she presented at the Tunza International Youth Conference 2007. She wants to develop efficient strategies of youth involvement and participation in the matter of sustainable development, at local and global levels.
Paulina was born on July 31st, 1986 in Mérida, Yucatán, México. She enjoys performing, reading, and traveling.
