This program offers all participants an opportunity to build networks both in their home countries and here in Germany and to discuss environmental issues.
Bayer has been running the Young Environmental Envoy Program since 1998. Initiated in Thailand , it has been extended to more countries each year. Originally, all participants came from the Asia-Pacific region, where this project is still one of the most important environmental education programs for young people. Since the establishment of this program, more than 5,000 young people have submitted outstanding applications to take part. 200 environmental envoys have been invited to visit Germany in the course of the program.
Since 2004, the Young Environmental Envoy Program has had a new patron: the program is now organized by Bayer in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)
