"To advocate" is to support, to promote, to back, to defend and to campaign for a cause in which you believe, and to which you are devoted. Advocacy is a tool  to build allegiance to a cause. It is through effective advocacy, that we strive to bring issues to public conscience, alter behaviour, and acheive better legistlation and policy for the benefit of environmental and sustainable development.
