Under their terms of mandate TYAC members have the numerous responsibilities to UNEP:

1. To help UNEP find better ways in engaging youth
2. Promote youth engagement with UNEP
3. Facilitate youth input in local, national and international environmental fora
4. Contribute to UNEP publications

By attending the GC, council members look to fulfil these requirements by attending plenary sessions and promoting the Tunza message. During their time at the GC they also look to engage delegates and promote youth activities while manning a “Youth Booth” containing all relevant UNEP and Tunza publications.
