Kids for Tigers, the Sanctuary Britannia Tiger Programme. JUNE 5, 2003 THEME: BENEFITS BEYOND BOUNDARIES. We are celebrating World Environment Day around India by asking our network of over one million children, from 750 schools, in 13 Indian cities, to take the WCPA-IUCN message to the adults in their lives. The story our kids tell is simple: "We cannot save the tiger, without saving its forests. If we save its forests, we end up saving our own best WATER SOURCES and thus ourselves." Kids will be setting a good example by conserving water in their schools and homes and will take an oath not to protect water sources. Our programme is not restricted to just June 5th. We intend to hold children's and teachers workshops, skits, songs, rallies, signature petitions, tiger fests, nature walks and "meet your politicians" initiatives. The details of our plans are posted on our website: www.kidsfortigers.org. The bottom line? "Together we can and will save the tiger."
