On the occasion of World Environment Day 2006, the Environment Online Programme will celebrate by planting trees, playing their self-made wooden musical instruments and flying kites. This will be organised at ENO schools in 75 countries. Groups are invited to register their tree planting event and join the celebrations. These activities will also mark the end of the school year 2005-06.

To celebrate and promote World Environment Day, WEL, World Elder Land has teamed up with the UNEP with the hope of inspiring and helping as many elder communities as possible to actively participate in the betterment of our planet earth and environment. This is a people’s event and a community project that promotes better ways toward environmental issues, whole-person living, to ensure all people enjoy a safer better present and future life. The environmental components that WEL is aiming to nuture and improve with your participation:

  • Better communities that are ecologically sound, socially responsive and sustainable "resource-use"
  • Energy - healing energy, solar and conservation
  • Wildlife endangered species
  • Health - alternative medicine, nutrition, air purification, natural light and noise contamination
  • Recycling paper, plastic, metal and glass
  • Water and natural resources
  • Nurturing good energy - "chi" for the soul, body and mind; engaging in meaningful conversations, choosing good words to communicate verbally and in writing. We encourage every elder and caregiver in our dear planet EARTH to practice acts of kindness, (visible and invisible) caring for the environment, nature, animals and all our human family. Knowing that by caring for others, we nurture and heal our 'self' - PEACE be with YOU!

World Elder Land invites elders around the world to actively participate in the betterment of more responsive and sustainable way of living.
