Hebron
To commemorate World Environment Day 2008, the Palestinian Centre for Communication and Developmental Studies will hold the following activities:
Develop six kindergartens in Hebron villages
by providing them with indoor and outdoor
games, stationary and helping materials;
Carry out a capacity building and improvement
course for the teachers of the mentioned kindergartens;
Hold six open days of fun and entertainment in
saving the environment;
Build small gardens for the kids and named them by kids names;
Make each kid responsible for watering and looking
after his/her garden;
Make painting workshops where the kids came up with paintings
about nature and there favorite parts of it;
A huge gallery for the kids paintings will be held.

On the occasion of World Environment Day 2008, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in partnership with the governments of Australia, Japan, Norway, and the United Kingdom, and the Asia Pacific Partnership for Clean Development and Climate (APP) will host the Asia Clean Energy Forum- the premiere platform for exchanging experiences and forging new partnerships to act on clean energy opportunities in Asia. The event will bring together a diverse group of stakeholders that includes leading policy makers, finance professionals, civil society members, and private sector experts.

The Emirates Marine Environmental Group (EMEG) will celebrate World Environment Day 2008 at their reserve in Ghantoot on 6 June. The event will feature a series of activities that aim to draw attention to the importance of the environment, its fragility and stimulate communities to take action in their daily life to reduce their carbon footprint. The following activities will be held:
Beach and dune cleanup of the Jebel Ali and Waterfront beach area;
Mangrove planting;
Screening of the Al Gore movie 'An Inconvenient Truth'
as well as other documentaries on the environment;
Art creations from all collected waste;
Drawing competition about climate change and its effects;
Natural history scavenger hunt;
Traditional games and activities;
All activities will begin at 9:30 am. A BBQ will be organized for lunch and prizes will be handed out at the end of the day.
