Kenyan Motocross Riders Raise Their Voices for Planet Earth
Kenyan motocross riders and their families celebrated WED at the Jamhuri Motocross Circuit on 22 June 2014. The event aimed at raising environmental awareness of climate change by highlighting the devastating consequences of sea level rise to the Small Island Developing States and other countries. While acknowledging that motorcycling has a significant carbon footprint, the riders planted indigenous trees, the upkeep of which was assigned to different Mx-classes. To encourage participants to strive for more sustainable lifestyles, pledges for environmental actions were presented by all Mx-teams. A clean-up competition also took place at the circuit surroundings.
