Summary of Achievements:

Khawla is a true believer in the environment cause and a remarkable activist in the field of environment. Her commitment goes well beyond the local environment to the regional and world-wide issues.

In 2000 she founded the Environmental Friends Society (EFS) and has been reelected President ever since.

Khawla has worked on many projects of national importance such as the National Youth Strategy. First and far most is the Youth Parliament initiative which is currently being planned to take in 2006. She has also just completed a study on water resources, supply and consumption in Bahrain for a regional organization.

She has organised several conferences, workshops, seminars and events on on environmental issues, aiming at raising public awareness and gain their support.
She holds a Masters degree in Tourism and Conservation (Ecotourism).
