Day 9: VOA
The first step of my internship at Voice of America (VOA) is an orientation and introductory tour of the premises. It was interesting to know that VOA was started in 1942 to serve as a source of information during the Second World War. Broadcasting and streaming in 44 languages, the radio has a big following and global audience of about 123 million people in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. I meet with the organization’s Senior Development Officer Inna Dubinsky and the head of English radio Sonya L. Green, who take me to my work station and make me feel at home. I am hoping and praying I get to sit in on “Going Green,” which is a programme that explores new trends and technologies in environmental science and services.
