UNEP IN 2022

In 2022, UNEP joined a UN initiative to increase action across the triple planetary crisis by addressing human, animal, plant and environmental health as one interlinked challenge. The quadripartite alliance of UNEP, FAO, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) released the One Health Joint Plan of Action – a five-year plan that focuses on strengthening health systems and addressing zoonotic epidemics, neglected tropical and vector-borne diseases, food safety risks and antimicrobial resistance.
