Caribbean Small Island Developing States (SIDS) are taking the lead in ocean governance through the he African, Caribbean and Pacific Multilateral Environmental Agreement(s) (ACP MEAs III) Programme, delivering integrated, locally driven, and policy-relevant actions. This Pavilion Talk will present regional successes in marine litter management, SPAW Protocol compliance, and community-led coastal initiatives. Speakers will highlight how these efforts support the Antigua and Barbuda Agenda for SIDS (ABAS), advancing ocean-based economies, protecting vulnerable communities from sea level rise, coastal surges and flooding, and safeguarding livelihoods such as tourism and fisheries, while also improving access to finance and knowledge-sharing. Participants will gain insights into replicable practices, hear first-hand experiences from project implementers, and explore opportunities for regional cooperation, demonstrating the Caribbean’s contributions to global SIDS priorities.
