The 10th Ordinary Steering Committee Meeting of the Regional Activity Center/ Regional Marine Pollution Emergency Information and Training Center for the Wider Caribbean Region (RAC/REMPEITC‐Caribe) will convene on May 18-19, 2022 at the Renaissance Curacao Resort and Casino in Willemstad, Curacao.

The main objectives of the meeting are to bring into focus the works of RAC REMPEITC-Caribe under the Oil Spills Protocol of the Cartagena Convention, along with other relevant
subject areas that are consistent with the Convention’s Marine Pollution Prevention Policy.
These include Ballast Water Management, Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease, Sargassum
Monitoring, the Caribbean Islands OPRC Plan and National Contingency Plan, among
others. The work of the Centre over the period July 2018 to April 2022, along with planned
activities for June 2022 to July 2024, will also be presented.
