RAC/REMPEITC-Caribe – 25 Years of Business

Monday, 15 June 2020, marks the 25th Anniversary of RAC/REMPEITC-Caribe.

The center was established to assist countries in the Wider Caribbean to prevent and respond to pollution in the marine environment through; Developing and assessing national and multilateral contingency plans, training and workshops, technical support and consultancy, information and public awareness.

These activities have contributed significantly to government’s decisions to ratify and implement the international conventions created to protect the marine environment.

These important milestones could not have been achieved without your support and cooperation. Your contribution in this effort has been tremendous in teaming up with us and in ensuring capacity building in the Wider Caribbean.

RAC/REMPEITC-Caribe expresses their gratitude and appreciation to the Government of Curacao for hosting the center since its creation, as well as the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) for their continuous and valuable support.

As we celebrate our silver jubilee (25 years) we look forward to your continued partnership in this most necessary effort for the benefit of us all.
