The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) depends on voluntary contributions for 95 per cent of its income and is grateful to all partners that support its work. Voluntary contributions consist of contributions to the Environment Fund, the UNEP Planetary Funds and earmarked funds.
To check the status and trends of voluntary contributions by different categories (click on a country to find out more), as well as the share that is requested from each Member State toward the Environment Fund budget, please see below.
The share that each Member State is encouraged to contribute to the Environment Fund is represented by the Voluntary Indicative Scale of Contributions (VISC). This tool ensures that each Member State is asked to contribute according to its capacity. Read more in the VISC Infographic and in the Environment Fund Frequently Asked Questions.
Each contribution matters – for people and planet.
