Famed environmentalist and President of Tompkins Conservation, Kristine McDivitt Tompkins is renowned for her outstanding environmental leadership. Together with her late husband Douglas Tompkins, they purchased vast swaths of landscapes in Patagonia and returned them in the form of national parks. They engaged businesses with the conservation of pristine mountains, grasslands, forests and wetlands in Chile and Argentina, and are recognized for recovering species such as the giant anteater in Argentina, while boosting jobs and incomes in local communities.
