The Sustainable Lifestyles University Network (SLUN) in Central Asia and the Caucasus is a collaboration between UNEP, through GO4SDGs, and the Kazakh-German University, established in 2022. The interregional network supports universities to promote sustainable lifestyles & circularity on campus and beyond in cooperation with the government, civil society, scientific community and private sector with a focus on fostering a culture of sustainable consumption and production in education, infrastructure, and research.

SLUN unites 28 universities in Central Asia and Caucasus, creating a platform for exchanging ideas, best practices, and innovative solutions to embed sustainability at the core of university life. This collaborative effort signifies a shared dedication to sustainability principles in higher education of target regions, extending its influence on the broader community through awareness campaigns and outreach initiatives.

The project's first phase set the stage for green development within Central Asian universities. It identified key areas needing sustainable interventions, enabling stakeholders to address critical gaps that could impede the realization of sustainable lifestyles and green nudges.
