Biography

Hassan Coulibaly is a GEF Mitigation and Transparency Project Specialist at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), supporting climate mitigation and transparency initiatives across Africa, particularly in Francophone West and North Africa. With over 11 years of experience in environmental management, climate change, urban planning and sustainable development, he works on projects related to electric mobility, climate transparency, sustainable urban development, low-carbon cooling and methane emissions reduction.

Prior to joining UNEP in 2022, Hassan worked in a consulting firm specializing in risk management, land-use planning and environmental assessment.

Hassan is an Ivorian national and holds an Engineering Degree in Petroleum and Mining Geology, as well as master’s degrees in geographic information systems (GIS), Urban and Regional Planning, and Development Policy and Management, with a particular focus on Africa’s development potential and sustainable transformation pathways.
