Biography

Peerayot Sidonrusmee currently works for the UNEP GEF Biodiversity & Land Degradation portfolio for Asia and the Pacific, where he provides support for UNEP GEF Biodiversity and Land Degradation projects.

Before joining the UNEP GEF team in Oct 2020, he worked in the resource efficiency team at UNEP Asia and the Pacific office, providing technical support for the resource efficiency programme and sustainable consumption and production for nine years. He also worked at UNESCO Asia and Pacific Regional Bureau for Education for 8 years.

He has substantial experience in development, sustainability management, innovation, and other social issues.

Peerayot has a broad experience in the research field. As an educator, he has been a visiting lecturer at several institutes, colleges and universities on social issues and innovation. Engaged in several site visits, long-term researches, and statistical surveys, he provided support to identify solutions, data collection instruments, statistical adjustment, data processing and analysis. He has also trained technical researchers of specific development issues to use the GIS and Application to strengthen information management systems and capacity for prevention of social problems.

His professional interests and areas of specialization include sustainable development, capacity-building, data collection, communications, administration, monitoring and evaluation, GIS mapping, software applications, relational database management, web-based programming, graphic design, and internet-based information. Personally, he is interested in photography, music, and meditation.
