Biography

Carolyne is Finance and Budget Assistant at UNEP's GEF Coordination Office. She brings with her over five years of experience in finance, business development, and community engagement. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Cooperative Business with a specialization in Finance from The Cooperative University of Kenya, as well as a CPA II certification from Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examinations Board (KASNEB).

Prior to joining UNEP, Carolyne served as a Finance and Credit Officer at Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB), where she was responsible for financial reporting, budget analysis, customer service, and relationship management. Her career also includes roles in Kenya Women Finance Trust (KWFT) and various volunteer positions, including her previous engagement with UNEP during the Blue Economy Conference in 2018.

Carolyne is passionate about sustainable development, community empowerment, and effective financial systems. She is fluent in English and Kiswahili and brings strong skills in data analysis, financial reconciliation, and stakeholder engagement.
