Varathaya supports the financial management and oversight of UNEP’s climate change mitigation and environmental projects across the Asia portfolio. Her responsibilities include budget preparation and revision, expenditure report review, financial monitoring, audit coordination, partner financial management, and compliance with UNEP and donor requirements.
Before joining UNEP in 2025, she accumulated more than 20 years of experience in finance and accounting across multinational organizations, specializing in financial reporting, budgeting, accounts receivable, credit management, process improvement, and audit coordination.
Varathaya is a national of Thailand and holds two bachelor's degrees in accounting and finance, and a master's degree in Language and Communication. She is passionate about contributing to sustainable development and strengthening financial accountability in international development projects.
