To aasist countries to review and update the National Implementation Plan (NIP) in order to comply with reporting obligations (Article 15) and updating of National Implementation Plans (Artcile 7) under the Stockholm Convention

As an overall contribution to the achievement of the Aichi Biodiversity Target 17 at the global level, to provide technical support to all eligible countries accessing GEF Biodiversity Enabling Activities funding, with a view to improving the quality benchmark and policy relevance of the next generation of NBSAPs, while also enhancing public participation in the NBSAP preparation process

To prepare and submit Mauritania’s first biennial update report (BUR) to UNFCCC and in doing so enhance Mauritania’s capacity to meet its reporting obligations under the UNFCCC on continous basis.

Removal of major barriers to the widespread and cost-effective use of grid-based renewable energy supply and to the introduction of energy conservation measures.

To support Uganda in meeting its obligation to the UNCCD Convention through Alignment of NAP with the 10 – Year Strategy and reporting and review process for the UNCCD

To assist the Government of Brazil to strengthen its technical capacity in supporting the implementation of its mitigation actions for greenhouse gas emissions in key economic sectors (industry, energy, industry, transportation, household and services, LULUCF and other cross-sector alternatives) in Brazil (including costs) as identified in the Brazilian National Policy and Plan on Climate Change.

Project Objective: To build climate resilience in developing African and Asia-Pacific countries using Ecosystem Based approaches to Adaptation (EBA) through capacity building, knowledge support and concrete, on-the-ground interventions.

To enhance the implementation of Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety through strengthening and institutional capacity building on the National Biosafety Framework for Ethiopia
