• Overview

UNEP-IETC will hold a joint event with Kaiyukan on Sunday, October 30, 2022, titled "Only One Earth - protecting marine life in the ocean protecting life in the ocean" will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2022.

The event will be a talk session on the most immediate issues of marine plastic waste in order to protect our irreplaceable planet. The event will feature UNEP Programme Officer Shunichi Honda, Director of the Kaiyukan Aquarium, and calligrapher Yuna Okanishi. Before the event, Yuna Okanishi will create a calligraphy piece on the theme of "Protecting the Ocean," which will be streamed live online.

Calligraphy artist Yuna Okanishi will create a calligraphy work on a 2m (H) x 2m (W) transparent acrylic panel with the theme of "Protecting the Sea" against the backdrop of the "Pacific Ocean" tank where whale sharks live. The calligraphy performance will be live-streamed on Yuna Okanishi's Instagram account. Visitors will be able to enjoy the combination of sea animals and the calligraphy work.
