Álvaro Gabriel Zopatti holds a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and three Master's degrees (International Relations, International Negotiations, and International Economic Relations). With over 17 years of experience in environmental management at the governmental and international levels, Álvaro has focused primarily on international environmental negotiations and environmental public policies.
Much of his work has been related to climate change, representing Argentina before the IPCC and other multilateral climate forums, including the UNFCCC and the G20. Since 2021, he has been working for UNEP, beginning his work for the Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Office on integrated environmental assessments and the GEO process. Since 2024, he has served as Coordinator of the EC/UNEP Project Identifying and Quantifying Plastic Contaminant Sources and Leakages into the Aquatic Environment.
