Fact Sheet : Gender and Waste Management

#

UNEP International Environmental Technology Centre (IETC) is pleased to announce the release of fact sheets on gender and waste management.

The waste sector is assumed to be gender neutral, but gender inequalities and norms are embedded in almost every aspect of waste management, leading to a gendered division of labour. Acknowledging the links between gender inequality and waste management will be key to creating a more sustainable and equitable waste sector.

To highlight the gender and waste nexus, IETC is pleased to announce the release of a series of short materials.
