That memorable moment has come at the closing ceremony of the ISWA 2019 Solid Waste World Congress in Bilbao, Spain in October. Our assosciate program officer, Claudia Giacovelli, alongside ISWA President Antonis Mavropoulos, signed an overarching agreement with ISWA on further collaborations.

IETC and ISWA are now jointly preparing for the second Global Waste Management Outlook, will be released in Spring 2020. The Global Waste Management Outlook is a pioneering scientific global assessment on the state of waste management and a call for action to the international community; the first version was published in 2015.

According to the ISWA President, Antonis Mavropoulos, “The new report will be a roadmap, not only for the waste management industry, but for society as a whole to support in improvement of waste collection and disposal, and support governments, authorities, municipalities and the private sector to ensure that proper, safe, sustainable waste management practices are developed worldwide”.
