Shunichi Honda joined UNEP IETC in May 2015. He has been implementing various projects, including the mercury waste projects, plastic waste projects, the Minamata Initial Assessment (MIA) project in Asia, and National and City Waste Management Strategies in collaboration with the IGES Centre Collaborating with UNEP, UNEP Sustainability Action, etc. Currently, he considers and develops sustainable waste management and how available resources can be invested to get social benefit from waste sectors for sustainability. He holds Ph.D. in Environmental Science and completed his postdoctoral research course at Tsinghua University.
