The Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of the Republic of Senegal, in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), is organizing a Joint Network Meeting of African National Ozone Officers, held back-to-back with a Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) Workshop, from 22–26 September 2025 in Dakar, Senegal. These events are flagship activities under the OzonAction Compliance Assistance Programme (CAP) of the UNEP Law Division, supported by the Multilateral Fund for the Implementation of the Montreal Protocol. These meetings come at a crucial time as Article 5 countries advance toward the 2030 phase-out of hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) and begin intensified efforts to implement the Kigali Amendment on hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs).

These gatherings serve as vital platforms for sharing expertise, aligning national actions with international obligations, and ensuring sustained compliance with the evolving provisions of the Montreal Protocol and its amendments. The inclusion of the CCAC Workshop on Lifecycle Refrigerant Management underscores the meeting’s expanded focus on climate co-benefits, energy efficiency, and gender inclusiveness in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) servicing sector.
