Thematic Meeting for South Asia National Ozone Officers

The Executive Committee of the Multilateral Fund, through Decision 91/66, has established a funding window for Article 5 countries to request financial support for preparing projects such as “National Inventories of Banks of Used or Unwanted Controlled Substances and a Plan for the Collection, Transport, and Disposal of Such Substances, including Consideration of Recycling, Reclamation, and Cost-Effective Destruction.” Several countries in the South Asia Network have already accessed or are requesting support under this initiative. As the project must be completed within 24 months of approval, it is essential to strengthen the capacity of National Ozone Officers to understand the concepts and methodologies for developing national inventories of banks and strategies for managing used or unwanted ODSs/HFCs through various business models.
