In 2022, the devastating impacts of the triple planetary crisis were compounded by widening inequality, conflict and rising food and energy prices. Yet, it was also a year of renewed vigour on environmental action.
UNEP marked its 50th anniversary as countries adopted landmark global agreements to curb pollution, protect and revive biodiversity, and support nations most vulnerable and impacted by climate change. But much work lies ahead to slow the planetary emergency.
