Roadmap for the UN Environment Programme Governing Bodies

The Roadmaps provide a regular update on key meetings of Governing Bodies, including meetings in preparation for the next session of the UN Environment Assembly and other meetings relevant for the Assembly.

• Roadmap for the UNEP Governing Bodies (January 2026 – December 2026)

The development of the roadmaps takes into account the guidance on the preparation and conduct of its meetings as outlined in document UNEP/CPR/162/7/Rev.1, which was endorsed at the resumed 162nd meeting of the Committee held on 31 October 2023. 

 Recommendation 1 of the guidance reads as follows:  

“The CPR Bureau supported by the Secretariat is entrusted to prepare and maintain a strategic roadmap for UNEP Governing Bodies covering all relevant CPR meetings for each upcoming calendar year. The roadmap will include tentative dates for the presentation of the annual Programme Performance Report and for dedicated briefings on the project portfolios and related programmes referred to paragraph 23 of the Programme of Work. The CPR meetings may be supplemented by Secretariat briefings as appropriate. The CPR Bureau is invited to regularly review the dates and draft agendas of the meetings reflected in the roadmap. Member States may propose additional agenda items for the subcommittee meetings, either through their Bureau Member, or by approaching the Secretariat directly.”
