2022 World Ozone Day (WOD) theme and tagline - MONTREAL PROTOCOL@35 - GLOBAL COOPERATION PROTECTING LIFE ON EARTH

 

The objective of this meeting is to discuss and share information among SEA network countries on the status of adoption of the AHTN2022. The meeting will also discuss whether specific HS codes for HFCs and blends have been assigned under the AHTN2022 at the national level and, if not yet, to exchange ideas on which kind of mechanism can be adopted to enable the country to track import statistics of HFCs and blends by substances.

The meeting aims to (i) launch the implementation of the Australia – Regional Component and to introduce the Air-conditioning Refrigeration Equipment Manufacturers Association of Australia (AREMA), as an implementation partner, to the PICs and (ii) discuss implementation modality and work plan to obtain feedback from the PICs for finalization and to further seek support from the PICs during implementation.

The joint network meeting aims to: (i) recap policy developments from the Meeting of the Parties and the ExCom Meeting at the global level; (ii) understand the topics to be negotiated in relevant meetings in May/June/July 2022; (iii) provide a brief overview of the 2022 CAP workplan and services and Implementing Agencies’ activities; and (iv) discuss and seek feedback from countries regarding potential areas to support/strengthen their implementation of Montreal Protocol activities at the nat

The main objective of this virtual thematic workshop aims to provide information and updates to countries on 1) introduction of the draft practical guidebook "Integration of Good Servicing Practices into National TVET system for Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Servicing Technicians" with feedback to be received from countries; and 2) discuss the need and benefits for RSS management regulations and importance of RPL scheme in the implementation of RSS management regulations.

Launched on 16 September 2021 by the UNEP OzonAction, UNESCO, and the National Ozone Units in the Asia-Pacific in partnership with Mahidol University, the public awareness-raising campaign “The Asia Pacific Regional Ozone2Climate Art Contest” aims to promote the linkage of ozone layer and climate change protection as well as achievements made under the Montreal Protocol and outreach for the continuous mobilization of public support on the phase-out of ozone depleting substances and phase-down

This meeting is organised by the UNEP OzonAction Compliance Assistance Programme in cooperation with the Pacific Island Countries' Network. It is part of the Regional Network service that OzonAction CAP provides to Article 5 (developing) countries as part of its role as an Implementing Agency of the Multilateral Fund for the Implementation of the Montreal Protocol.
