In the framework of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals, this project supports the strengthening of governmental capacities to integrate environmental sustainability in the sectoral and cross-sectoral planning processes.
Applying an integrated approach to public planning consists not only in incorporating the environmental components in the plans and social and economic development projects, but also in promoting a sectoral and cross-sectoral balance between social development, sustained economic growth and the sustainable management of natural resources and ecosystems.
In Latin America and the Caribbean, this initiative is collecting case studies and lessons learned with the objective of promoting the integrated approach in other countries with South-South and Triangular cooperation schemes.
