Air pollution and food loss and waste are two of the most pressing global challenges of our time. Together, they exacerbate climate change, public health issues and food insecurity. Ground-level ozone, a major air pollutant, directly harms crops, reducing yields and contributing to food loss. At the same time, food waste generates methane emissions in landfills, worsening air pollution and climate change.
