Risk Forum- Resilience to Climate Change in Small Island Developing States In the Caribbean Through Integration of Engineered and Nature-Based Solutions The Cartagena Convention Secretariat will participate in a three-day forum in Barbados in June 2022 which will bring together experts from the Caribbean territories of the USA and CARICOM countries.

The Secretariat of the Basel Convention will be hosting a webinar as a follow up on the first meeting of its Plastic Waste Partnership Working Group that was held from 2nd to 5th March 2020 in Seychelles. As a member of this Working Group, the Cartagena Convention Secretariat was represented at this meeting which successfully concluded with agreements on several items, notably the establishment of project groups and consensus on activities that will be implemented by each project group. The purpose of the GEF IWEco 3rd Regional Project Steering Committee Meeting is to:- Provide a refresher on the objectives of the GEF IWEco Project and expected outcomes (based on Results Framework); Present financial status of the project, expenditures so far, and budget for the next year; Provide an update on the status of the project activities (Partners and Participating Countries to present); Present and discuss the Work Plan for 2019, communication and monitoring mechanisms;

The Fourth Intergovernmental Review Meeting of the Global Programme of Action for the Protection of Marine Environment from Land-Based Activities will be held from Wednesday 31 October to Thursday 1 November 2018.
